29Billy Reid – Fashion Reflecting an Upbringing
A natural born southerner, Billy Reid was first introduced to the fashion industry at a young age. His mother owned a clothing boutique in their hometown of Amite, Louisianna. It was in 1998 that Reid first launched his own label, William Reid, which was remodeled under the name Billy Reid in 2004. His more personalized brand under his nickname was meant to represent his authentic lifestyle, upbringing, personality and aesthetic. Described as “modern American work-wear and cultured southern dandyism.” Whether you are a southern gentlemen or a rough yet elegant southern gal, Reid’s spring collection features a combination of both classic and modern looks for you.
Our favorites include:
For women– the double pleat silk pants with a custom pelican print are perfect for a casual evening out or even a picnic on a cool April day.
Don’t let the utility pocketing on the fisherman shirts scare you away. Reid has a way of giving this shirt both a girlish innocence and sophistication.
The leather vests were also among our favorites including both the long brown fisherman inspired utility vest and Reid’s classic take on the black leather vest.
For men- the convertible zip-up anorak jacket in fire engine red is perfect for those muddy spring days.
The adaptable shawl pullover in navy is a perfect combination of comfort and sophistication for a hike or barbeque with friends.
The Boman shorts in both brick and burnt orange add a pop of color to a classic khaki sport jacket.
