Cozy up to the Hearth at the Pig Hotel
It started with the Pig (in the New Forest) – and has evolved to include the Pig in the Wall (Southhampton), and in 2013 will include the Pig on the Beach (Dorset).
The concept is simple, shabby chic meets garden to table. The Pig brand is the latest creation of Robin Hutson, founder of the Hotel du Vin chain and the exquisite Limewood hotel down the road from the Pig.
Everything at the Pig revolves around the garden, the gardener, forager and chef. Meals are created using ingredients sourced within a 25 mile radius of the hotel. Rooms at the hotels are home grown and comfortable, well designed but not over designed. The Pig strikes just the right balance between informality and luxury. If you go, you will want to linger as there is much to see and do in the area, from stately homes and fly fishing, to sailing and watching the “wild” ponies gallop along the moors.
